The Early Solutions Program helps assess a child's needs (ages birth through 6 years old) through Greater KC area, so that he/she can successfully interact with others and better control his/her emotions. Program includes staff visiting with child care professionals and child's parents, observing the child in the classroom setting, offering practical solutions, referring to other community resources, and consultation and play therapy. Service is free.

CIT officers are specially trained and work in cooperation with the mental health system, consumers, and families, to address high-risk crisis calls, and lead police-based crisis intervention of generalist officers. The CIT officer employs a de-escalation intervention strategy and may access crisis services, or transport the individual to a partnered hospital emergency room.

Research Psychiatric Center has 3 outpatient clinic locations in the Kansas City area. These clinics provide individual, group and family therapy. After an individual has received treatment on an inpatient unit they often "step down" to outpatient therapy so they can be provided with the needed education and support to be able to function successfully outside of the hospital. The outpatient clinics can also be helpful in avoiding a crisis situation, such as when an individual is struggling emotionally or battling an addiction however does not require inpatient hospitalization. Please contact either the Call Center or any of the outpatient clinics to schedule an appointment.

Serves young men and women, ages;16 to 21, who are homeless or at-risk, who need a place to live. Pregnant or parenting youth are admitted with equal consideration to those who are not in that situation. Provides a safe place to live, educational assistance, life skills training, job placement coaching assistance, medical care, individual therapy, and case management. The agency serves homeless and at-risk adolescents, emotionally troubled children and families. This unique program provides a continuum of care and supervision to young adults as they progress from living in group care to living in the community.
