Eitas currently has a full-time opening for an Agency Relations Specialist. This is a highly responsible position, providing support and guidance to agencies funded by eitas. The person in this position will participate in the review of funding applications and provide recommendations to the eitas Board of Directors. Under the direct supervision of the Agency Relations Supervisor, the Agency Relations Specialist will work in partnership with agencies funded by eitas, and other organizations, to achieve outcomes that positively affect the quality of life for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The Agency Relations Specialist will also facilitate training courses for eitas funded agencies, eitas staff, external professionals, and those with IDD.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Develop and maintain relationships with key staff of funded programs, regularly observe services and speak with participants to ensure the provision of services funded by eitas.
Promote topics of importance to the eitas mission, such as providing inclusive services, supporting individual choice, increasing opportunities and encouraging independence. Coach funded agencies on implementing these and other important topics in their programming.
Teach, guide and support funded agencies on outcome development and data collection.
Monitor the progress of funded agencies on program targets and adherence to contractual requirements.
Assist in the development of and/or facilitate training offered by eitas, which may include topics related to Mental Health, Outcome Development, Gentle Teaching, Self-Care, etc.
Be a resource and assist agencies in developing policies and practices that promote equity by seeking to support underserved populations within Jackson County.
Experience and Training Required:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Two years of post-graduation professional experience related to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Working knowledge of program development, outcome development and/or goal writing
EXPERIENCE PREFERED:
Experience training groups or working with groups of people for a common goal
Knowledge of person centeredness and person-centered thinking, planning and processes, or the Charting the LifeCourse framework
Skills and Ability Required:
Detail-oriented
Ability to organize projects, prioritize workflow and complete tasks accurately
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of outcome measurements or goal development
Must demonstrate the ability to bring partners together around a common goal using effective communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, and to see the project through to completion.
Maintenance of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record and vehicle insurance in compliance with eitas requirements OR available transportation for the completion of all job duties.
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams) and Zoom Video Conferencing. If skilled in another similar application, person could be considered.
Must demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with all internal and external contacts.
Must present a professional, business-like manner and appearance
Working Conditions:
The Agency Relations and Advocacy Specialist will work approximately 30% of their time in the community and 70% of their time in an eitas or home office, based on the needs of the Agency Relations Department staff and the direction of the Agency Relations Supervisor. Office work will include periods of standing and sitting, occasional bending and reaching overhead, frequent handling of paperwork and electronic equipment.
Standard work hours are 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend work will also be required, as needed, to support local advocacy efforts.
