Eitas currently has a full-time opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist to provide overall quality assurance to the Targeted Case Management (TCM) Department, Community Outreach Department (COD), &/or the Division of Transportation (DOT). Under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, the Quality Assurance Specialist will monitor TCM, COD, & DOT activities related to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Waiver Assurances, federal and state laws, as well as established eitas guidelines, and help to ensure the accuracy and integrity of eitas Medicaid billing.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work cooperatively with the TCM Department Administration and the Office Support Supervisor to collect information regarding the TCM Department’s compliance with CMS Waiver Assurances and eitas guidelines. Share information with the TCM Department Administration regarding areas which may need enhancement.

  • Audit records of supported individuals to ensure all records contain required documents to meet CMS Waiver Assurances and required timelines.

  • Audit TCM & COD log notes to ensure they are coded accurately and meet CMS, Kansas City Regional Office/Department of Mental Health and eitas requirements.

  • Conduct monthly phone call surveys and/or in person surveys and report results.

  • Conduct QA reviews of DOT Driver observations (camera reviews).

  • Assist the Deputy Director of Operations with HIPAA duties such as regular reviews of the SETWorks Access Tracker, documenting and reporting on potential HIPAA violations, and providing HIPAA training for employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Registered Nurse license or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and experience with CMS Waiver Assurances. Previous experience in a quality assurance role is preferred. 

Skills Required:

  • Considerable knowledge of support coordination/targeted case management, community outreach & transportation methods, principles and techniques as related to developmental disabilities

  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with the CMS Waiver Assurances and Department of Mental Health contractual requirements for providing support coordination, as well as contractual requirements for providing community outreach and transportation services

  • Familiarity with the principles of person-centered planning and implementation

  • Must have a high level of proficiency and accuracy in all duties

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Must be able to objectively review data and maintain confidentiality

  • Must be able to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work to complete quality assurance tasks accurately and meet deadlines

  • Must have above average math skills

  • Must have above average written and verbal communication skills

  • Must present a professional, business-like manner and appearance

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel 

Working Conditions:

The person in this position will be required to work in an office setting with periods of standing, sitting, occasional reaching overhead, frequent handling of paperwork and computer equipment, and frequent grasping. The continuous use of visual clarity at close and distant ranges is required to perform job duties. Work may be performed on-site or remotely as approved by the Quality Assurance Manager.

The person in this position will be required to interact with others on the phone and in person and maintain attention to detail in spite of interruptions.

Work hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but may include some evenings and weekend work as needed. The Quality Assurance Specialist will also be allowed to set his/her own office hours, with pre-approval by the Quality Assurance Manager. All overtime must be pre-approved by the Quality Assurance Manager. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
